Organization isn’t about a color-coordinated classroom — it’s about not spending your prep period looking for the glue sticks. These are the systems that have actually survived in my room year after year.

Label everything a student needs to find. If a child can return an item without asking you, you’ve bought yourself back several minutes a day.

Keep one landing spot for paper. A single tray for turned-in work beats six piles on your desk. Empty it at the same time every day.

Build a sub tub in September. Copies, seating chart, schedule, and two no-prep activities. You will thank yourself in February.

Choose systems your students can run. The best classroom routine is the one that keeps working on the day you’re out of energy.
